On March 2, Professor Li Youmei was invited to attend the unveiling ceremony of Shanghai Research Center of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for A New Era, and a seminar on Important Thought of General Secretary Xi Jinping on Deepening Reform in An All-round Way held at the Party School of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC. Yin Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC, was present at the event and delivered an important speech. Yan Shuang, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC, presided over the inauguration ceremony.

The leadership group of Shanghai Research Center of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for A New Era was declared at the seminar. Dong Yunhu, Chairman of the Shanghai Municipal CPPCC, member of the Standing Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC serves as director of the center, and Yan Shuang was appointed as its managing deputy director. Li Youmei, First Vice President of Shanghai Academy, Shen Wei, Managing Vice President of the Municipal Party School, and about 10 heads of relevant higher learning institutions and scientific research institutes were appointed as deputy directors.

The mission of Shanghai Research Center of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for A New Era is to implement relevant deployment of the Central Committee and Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC in an all-round way, unite and give support for theory researchers of Shanghai to study Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for New Era. In line with the requirement of “high-end planning, high-standard construction, high-level operation and high-quality output”, the center will be built into an information archive, research seat and communication base of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for A New Era.
