On July 28, Shanghai Academy and the Policy Research Office of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee signed a think tank construction cooperation agreement at a meeting themed “Accelerating Zhejiang’s Integration with Shanghai, as well as the Construction of a Demonstration Zone” held in Jiaxing city. The meeting was held to actively respond to the “Yangtze River Delta City Cluster Development Plan” and the metropolitan construction planning of Shanghai, to further promote the integration of Jiaxing and Shanghai, comprehensively carry out cooperation in think tank construction and jointly organize research on major economic and social problems of the two places. Li Youmei, First Deputy President of Shanghai Academy, and Wang Hongbo, Deputy Secretary General and Director of the Policy Research Office of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee, signed the agreement on behalf of both sides.

Both sides aim to carry out research on countermeasures by focusing on Jiaxing’s integration with Shanghai, scientific and technological innovation, development of emerging industries, urban construction management, public service and social governance, reform and opening up, and other key areas. Through special-topic research, jointly holding forums and information sharing, Shanghai Academy will participate in Jiaxing’s major economic and social decision-making in a bid to provide intellectual support for integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.

As an important part of the campaign of “Accelerating Zhejiang’s Integration with Shanghai, as well as the Construction of a Demonstration Zone”, the agreement between Shanghai Academy and the Policy Research Office of the CPC Jiaxing Municipal Committee will help to further deepen the cooperation between the think tanks of both places, realize complementary advantages, mutual benefit and win-win outcomes, as well as benefit from resource sharing and coordinated development.

Relevant leaders of Zhejiang Province, Shanghai Municipality and Jiaxing Municipal Committee and government witnessed the signing, and Zhu Cheng, Director of the Cooperation Division of Shanghai Academy, attended the signing ceremony.
