On the afternoon of May 27, the Unveiling Ceremony of the “Shanghai Academy Chongming Base” was held at a conference center in Chongming District. Tang Jinsu, Deputy Director of the Department of Basic Governance and Community Construction of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Zhu Qinhao and Kuang Peng, Director and Deputy Director of the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, Tang Hailong, Secretary of Chongming District CPC Committee, Li Zheng, Deputy Secretary of Chongming District CPC Committee, and acting district head, Wang Xiaoke, member of the Standing Committee of Chongming District CPC Committee, and Director of the Organization Department of Chongming District CPC Committee, Huang Xiaoxia, Deputy District head of Chongming District, and Li Youmei, First Vice President of Shanghai Academy, attended the ceremony. Tang Hailong and Li Youmei jointly unveiled the “Shanghai Academy Chongming Base”.

Established jointly by Chongming District and Shanghai Academy, the “Shanghai Academy Chongming Base” will give full play to the advantages of Shanghai Academy in scientific research and policy advisory matters, and engage in extensive cooperation in such fields as public policies, community governance, urban and rural development, and talent training, to better serve the construction of a world-class eco-island.

After the unveiling ceremony, the Appointment Ceremony for Distinguished Experts of “Shanghai Academy Chongming Base” and Chongming District “Village Lecture Hall” was grandly held. The first batch of scholars including Professor Li Youmei and Professor Zhu Cheng from Shanghai Academy, Professor Zhang Wenhong and Associate Professor Huang Xiaochun from Shanghai University were employed as the chief experts of “Shanghai Academy Chongming Base” and Chongming District “Village Lecture Hall”. Tang Hailong and Li Zheng conferred them with their letters of appointment.
