On October 9, Professor Li Youmei, First Vice President of Shanghai Academy, led a delegation to visit two of the first batch of high-end think-tank pilot units — the Academy of Macroeconomic Research of the National Development and Reform Commission (AMR) and China Center for International Economic Exchanges (CCIEE), and communicated with Shen Bing, Deputy Director of the Land Development and Regional Economics Research Institute of AMR, and Wang Fuqiang, Director of the Industrial Planning Department of CCIEE, on such issues as Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and its influence on Shanghai. Xiong Hou, Director of the Research Division, Associate Research Fellow Su Qingyi and Post-doctor Xiang Feng accompanied Li during the visit.
The communications with relevant experts participating in policy research is Shanghai Academy’s practice of the think-tank construction concept of “Shanghai- Outside Looking in”. During the communications, they studied the issues of concern to Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, gained a better understanding of national strategies and regional development, and provided specialized think-tank products to better serve the development of Shanghai.
