On November 16, Cui Jianmin, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of organs directly under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Yan Xiaona, Secretary of the CCYL Committee of CASS, visited Shanghai Academy to guide the work, and a symposium for the construction and development of Shanghai Academy and its Party building work was held. Wen Xueguo, Executive Vice President of Shanghai Academy, Yang Huijun, Director of the Secretariat, Xiong Hou, Director of the Research Division, and Li Chunguang, Deputy Director of the Cooperation Division, attended the symposium.

Wen first introduced the organizational structure, personnel composition, division and the 8 research centers of Shanghai Academy, and then mainly introduced the think tank achievements since the establishment of Shanghai Academy, Shanghai Academy’s service of the whole country, and Shanghai’s economic and social development as a new-type think tank jointly established by CASS and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government.

Cui and his party visited the office building of Shanghai Academy, including the achievement exhibition, library and reading room, and watched a promotional video so as to have a deeper understanding of Shanghai Academy. He fully affirmed the rapid development, solid style of work, and fruitful achievements of Shanghai Academy since its founding, and encouraged Shanghai Academy to make persistent efforts based on the actual conditions and realize its objectives of “four high-ends”. He emphasized that, in the next step, Shanghai Academy must earnestly learn and implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC, apply the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC in actual work, advance the “5+1+1” program of the Party’s political construction, ideological construction, organizational construction, work style construction, discipline construction, system construction and anti-corruption construction, continuously advance the learning and education normalization of “two studies and one action”, organize the theme education of “Remaining True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind”, do a good job in hierarchical trainings, regard Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the new era as a powerful ideological weapon to promote the development, and make Party members the participants, practitioners, and demonstrators of the think tank construction and development.

In addition, Shanghai Academy also reached a preliminary cooperation intention with the Party committee of organs directly under CASS, and planned to strengthen cooperation in organizing meetings, survey activities, and projects.
