On November 15, Li Peilin, Vice President and member of the Party Group of CASS, visited Shanghai Academy, attending the 11th Regular President Office Meeting in 2017 and inspecting and offering guidance for the work. Shanghai Academy’s First Vice President Li Youmei, Executive Vice President Wen Xueguo and Vice President Zhou Guoping, as well as Yang Huijun, Director of the Secretariat, Xiong Hou, Director of the Research Division, Chen Yao, Director of the Administration Division, and Zhu Cheng, Director of the Cooperation Division, attended the meeting.

Li Youmei, Wen Xueguo, Zhou Guoping and relevant heads in charge of different functional departments respectively reported to Li Peilin the progress of the work Shanghai Academy has carried out. The reports centered on issues including transfer of the persons taking temporary posts, purchase of office supplies, organization of distinctive activities, source and use of funds, review of research work in 2017 and outlook for 2018.

Li Peilin recognized the work of Shanghai Academy, and expressed the hope that Shanghai Academy will make full use of the resources of CASS, think from the perspective of the areas outside Shanghai, and produce more influential results with greater referential significance, so as to realize the strategic deployment made by Wang Weiguang, President and Secretary of the Party Group of CASS, and leaders of Shanghai Municipal Government about Shanghai Academy and the new approach of “academy-government cooperation”. He also noted that the report Mr. Xi delivered at the 19th CPC National Congress made the important judgment that socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era; Shanghai Academy must keep up with the time and fulfill the new requirements in the new era with a broader vision, a more careful and pragmatic deployment, a calmer and more confident mindset, a stronger sense of responsibility and a more positive stance.
