Shanghai Academy held an opening meeting for the “Study into the Path and Countermeasures of Building Jiaxing into An International High-Quality City” on the afternoon of September 20. Wen Xueguo, Executive Vice President of Shanghai Academy, presided over the meeting.

Wen Xueguo first introduced the study’s selection background, framework structure and main content, and hoped that each of the experts present would exercise their individual expertise and offer advice and suggestions, in order to provide innovative ideas to progress Jiaxing into an international high-quality city.

The participant experts included Yu Hongsheng, Research Fellow of the Institute of Urban and Population Development of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Li Zhan and Wan Yong, Research Fellows of the Institute of Applied Economics of the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, Chen Xian, Professor of Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Wu Sugui, Head of the Social Culture Division of the Development Research Center of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, and Yang Yiqi, Deputy Director of the Department of Theoretical Comments of Wen Wei Po. At the meeting, the experts offered opinions on how to build Jiaxing into an international high-quality city, the evaluation standards for international high-quality cities, and the overall thinking, path and relevant supporting policies for developing an international high-quality city. In a warm atmosphere, the experts provided valuable opinions for the study by Shanghai Academy.

Yang Hujun, Director of the Secretariat of Shanghai Academy, and relevant workers of the Research Division and Secretariat attended the meeting.
