Zhu Jinchang, former Secretary General (vice-ministerial level) of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences（CASS）and Director of the Center for Social Policy Research of CASS, and his party visited Shanghai Academy on September 5. Wen Xueguo, Executive Vice President of Shanghai Academy, received the guests.

Wen Xueguo gave a detailed introduction of Shanghai Academy’s organizational structure, work achievements after establishment, current operation and recent work plans to Zhu and his party. Zhu Jinchang fully affirmed the achievements obtained by Shanghai Academy, and encouraged Shanghai Academy to make persistent efforts based on current reality, endeavor to realize the “four top-end” objectives, improve Shanghai’s research and innovation capacities in such fields as strategic research, consultations and advice, talent training, guidance of public opinions and public diplomacy, and actively explore the institutional innovation for the construction of new-type think-tanks with Chinese characteristics.

Zheng Bingwen, President of the Institute of American Studies of CASS and Director of Modern Charity Center of Shanghai Academy, and Xiong Hou, Director of Research Division of Shanghai Academy, attended the meetings and exchange activities.
