    Shanghai Academy Visits Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy

    On the afternoon of November  20, 2015, a 7-member delegation led by Wen Xueguo, Executive Vice President of Shanghai  Academy, visited Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy in Tuspark, and was received by Li Jianya, a specialist in government relations and partnership at Carnegie-Tsinghua  Center.

    During the talks, Wen Xueguo and Li Jianya respectively introduced the overview, functions, organizational structure, personnel system and distinctive projects of Shanghai  Academy and Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy. The participants exchanged ideas about the ways of production and channels of publicity and release for think tank results, the methods used to assess the influence of think tanks as well as other issues related to the construction of think tanks and the internationalization of Chinese think tanks. Both sides expect further cooperation on personnel exchanges, academic meetings and research to jointly advance construction of new-type think tanks in China .

    Launched in 2010, Carnegie-Tsinghua Center for Global Policy gathers senior experts and scholars from China , US and other parts of the world for cooperation on research, and aims to seek for constructive solutions to the issues and challenges facing the world. The Center is part of the ever expanding global networks of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, with the research work covering issues like China ’s foreign relations, international economy and trade, climate changes and energy, nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament and other international safety challenges, such as the Korean  Peninsula issue, the Afghanistan issue and the Iran nuclear issue.

    Yang Huijun, Director of the Division of Scientific Research, and Chen Yao, Director of the Administration Division of Shanghai Academy, Zhu Zhenying, Deputy Director of Finance Office, Shanghai University, Wang Jian, Deputy Director of Research Office for Humanities and Social Sciences, took part in the activity. Xu Zhen, Communication Director of Carnegie-Tsinghua  Center for Global Policy attended the talks.
