The Reference Significance of the Development of Zhongguancun’s Unicorn Enterprises to Shanghai

[Abstract]

This issue of Key Reference publishes an article entitled The Reference Significance of the Development of Zhongguancun’s Unicorn Enterprises to Shanghai. The article holds the view that unicorn enterprises will be the engine that drives fast economic growth amid the economic transformation and new normal. The great passion for entrepreneurship and the correct path followed by unicorn enterprises has become a new criterion used to judge the development of new economy in a region. After explaining several characteristics of the unicorn enterprises at Zhongguancun, the article summarizes the inspirations for Shanghai, including i) highly valuing the role of unicorn enterprises, ii) establishing local benchmarking for unicorn enterprises, iii) developing a layered and classified system to support enterprises, and iv) creating an innovation and entrepreneurship system favorable to the development of unicorn enterprises.
