Analysis of the Regional Difference of Basic Education in Shanghai and Suggestions about Equality
[Abstract]
This issue of the Key Reference publishes an article entitled Analysis of the Regional Difference of Basic Education in Shanghai and Suggestions about Equality. The article points out that different parts of Shanghai see varying basic education in terms of the allocation of teaching staff, the input of educational funds and the quantity of teaching instruments. It proposes that it’s necessary to define a minimum proportion of educational input based on the relative level of educational input by different districts/counties across the city, and thus form a system or mechanism that helps narrow the regional gap in educational input, step by step. Besides, it also suggests concentrating limited resources on humans and improving the quality of education.
