Suggestions about Upgrading the Scientific Innovation Platform in Zhangjiang High-Tech Park

[Abstract]

This issue of the Key Reference publishes an article entitled Suggestions about Upgrading the Scientific Innovation Platform in Zhangjiang High-Tech Park. Based on the comparison with the Silicon Valley and Zhongguancun, the article identifies the following weaknesses of Zhangjiang High-Tech Park: The lack of benchmark enterprises makes it difficult to form innovation networks and synergic division of labor. The failure in the change of the identity of investors makes it hard to establish a complete investment chain for entrepreneurship. The lack of tech sources in colleges makes continued innovation difficult. The article hence gives the following suggestions: first, efforts must be made to establish benchmark enterprises and form innovation industrial clusters; second, efforts must be made to upgrade the investment and financing environment and improve the innovation investment chain; third, efforts must be made to strengthen basic scientific research in colleges and deepen cooperation between colleges and enterprises.
