Improving the Leading Power in Consumption and Tapping the Consumption Potential of the Middle-income Group
[Abstract]
This issue of the Key Reference publishes an article entitled Shanghai Urgently Needs to Improve the Leading Power in Consumption and Tapping the Consumption Potential of the Middle-income Group. The article first analyzes the current consumption capability in Shanghai from aspects including the consumption potential of Shanghai’s middle-income group and the new competition in the consumer market of the Yangtze River Delta. Then, it gives suggestions about how to gear up Shanghai’s consumption capability to international standard. That is, Shanghai must focus on the complete consumer market in the Yangtze River Delta, and work to build the leading power in consumption, from the strategic perspective as a modern and international metropolis.
