Qiu Aijun, PhD in economics, associate research fellow, Deputy Director of the Urban and Small Town Center of the National Development and Reform Commission. He also worked for the Small Town Center of the Economic System Reform Office of the State Council, and engaged in the research of policies in such fields as urbanization, small town development and urban management for a long time. In addition, he has provided early-stage research consultations for national urbanization development policy, presided over multiple draftings of local urban development planning, and offered evaluation and consulting services in urban development policy, development strategy and development projects to local governments. As an urban development expert, he has provided many policy consultations for the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other international institutions.
He has coauthored publications including: Planning Research for Promoting Sound Urban Development, Exploration of Development Planning for Small Chinese Towns and Policy Research for China's Urbanization Strategic Choice, and the translation of Social Issue: Events and Solutions.
Many research reports that Qiu Aijun has acted as the main author have won the Third Prize for Excellent Research Achievements of the National Development and Reform Commission.
