Zhang Tao, PhD in economics, Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Director of the Economic Model Room of the Institute of Quantitative and Technical Economics CASS, Director of the Chinese Association of Quantitative Economics, and member of the Academic Committee of the Pangoal Institution. In 2003-2004, he served as a senior visiting scholar at Cambridge University, UK. In 2007-2008, he served as a senior visiting scholar at the University of California, San Diego, and conducted cooperative research with Nobel economics laureate Professor Clive Granger. He has presided over many major research projects launched by the National Social Science Foundation of China, the State Administration of Taxation, Ford Foundation, state Environmental Protection Administration, Ministry of Finance, NPC Budget Work Committee and other units. His research fields are econometric theory and methods, economic projection, and economic analysis and policy evaluation. His main representative works are Combined Projection—Theory, Method and Application (2008), Economic Development, Individual Income Tax Adjustment and Income Gap of Urban Residents (2014), Dynamic Evaluation for Income Distribution Policy under Complex Adaptive System, and The Effects of China's Stimulus Policies and Their Transmission Channels (2011).
