    POSITION

    Li Chunling serves as a research fellow and PhD candidate supervisor of the Institute of Sociology of CASS, Director of the Juveniles and Social Issues Research Office at CASS, deputy chief editor of Youth Studies, Deputy Director and research fellow of the Center for Survey and Research of China’s National Conditions, CASS, Secretary-general of the Research Committee on Social Stratification and Mobility, Chinese Sociological Association. 

    WORK OF EXPERIENCE

    Her main research fields include social stratification, sociology of education and youth studies. She has studied as visiting professor and visiting scholar in Princeton University, Oxford University, the University of Michigan, Stockholm University, Sciences Po Paris and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). Major books she published include Cleavage and Fragment: An Empirical Analysis on the Social Stratification of Contemporary China, Formation of Middle Class in Comparative Perspective: Process, Influence, and Socioeconomic Consequences, Social Mobility in Urban China, Theories of Social Stratification, Gender Stratification and Labor Market, Youth and Social Change: A Comparative Study Between China and Russia, Experience, Attitudes and Social Transition: A Sociological Study of the Post-80’s Generation, and Rising Middle Classes in China. Moreover, she has published a dozen of academic papers on authoritative academic journals such as Social Sciences in China, Sociological Studies and the Chinese Journal of Population Science. She has also published many articles on mainstream media such as the People’s Daily, Guangming Daily and Beijing Daily. She has completed nearly ten projects supported by the National Social Science Foundation of China, and major projects and international research projects supported by CASS. Her recent research projects include Research on Development Status and Trend of China’s Middle Class supported by the National Social Science Foundation of China, and innovative projects of CASS including A Panel Study on Employment, Living Condition and Value of Youth in Contemporary China, A Panel Study on Employment, Living Condition and Value of Undergraduates and Graduates in China, Social Governance and Social Stability of the Super-large City:[T1] A Study on Attitudes and Behaviors of China’s Middle Class and Graduates in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, A Study on Production Mechanism of China’s Middle Class in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, A Study on the Current Situation of Beijing Youth: Survival Conditions, Ideological Trends and Organization Forms.
