Shanghai Academy signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Chongming District People's Government at Chongming New Town Convention Center on the afternoon of July 24. The signing ceremony was chaired by Tang Hailong, Secretary of the CPC Chongming District Committee. Li Zheng, Head of Chongming District, and Li Youmei, First Deputy President of Shanghai Academy, signed the cooperation agreement on behalf of both sides. Hou Jijun, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Chongming District Committee and Deputy Head of Chongming District, Wang Xiaoke, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Chongming District Committee and Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongming District Committee, Huang Xiaoxia, Deputy Head of Chongming District, Gong Sicong, Director of the General Office of the CPC Chongming District Committee, Ni Xiangdong, Director of the General Office of the Chongming District Government, Shi Wei, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Chongming District Committee and Secretary for Social Work of the CPC Chongming District Committee, and Gong Jianqin, Director of the Chongming District Civil Affairs Bureau, attended the signing ceremony.

Ever since its founding, centering on the tasks and objectives of comprehensively advancing reform in Shanghai, Shanghai Academy has increased its efforts in academy-municipality cooperation, and actively served for the innovation and progress of Shanghai. To better serve local economic and social development, Shanghai Academy has constantly strengthened cooperation with governments at all levels in Shanghai. The aim of the strategic cooperation agreement with Chongming District People's Government is to further accelerate the pace of cooperation between Shanghai Academy and local governments. Pursuant to the agreement, in the principles of reciprocity and mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation, both sides will gather resources, bring their advantages into full play, improve work advance mechanism, and implement the cooperation plan in a bid to achieve the common strategic objectives of both sides. By centering on such key contents as construction of a world-class ecological island and social governance and innovation, both sides will carry out attendant activities including special topic research assignments, in-depth empirical cooperation, project-based cooperation, and practical training, teaching, and research through Shanghai Academy-Chongming Base.

Zhu Cheng, Director of the Cooperation Division of Shanghai Academy, Huang Xiaochun, Vice President of the School of Sociology and Political Science of Shanghai University, and Professor Xiao Ying, Professor Sun Xiulin and Associate Professor Yang Zeng of the School of Sociology and Political Science of Shanghai University were also present at the signing ceremony.
