Main Challenges and Suggestions for Construction of Shanghai Free Trade Port
【Abstract】
This issue of Key Reference publishes an article entitled Main Challenges and Suggestions for Construction of Shanghai Free Trade Port. According to the article, the construction of Shanghai Free Trade Port faces not only various challenges brought by the principle of “America First”, American Tax Reform, CPTPP restart and other international changes, but also the competition with Hong Kong Free Trade Port, the existing backward regulatory system, incomplete risk prevention and control system and other impacts from current domestic political and economic conditions. The article points out that during the construction of Shanghai Free Trade Port, efforts must be made to seize the opportunity to lead the global open economy development level; enhance China's attractiveness, competitiveness, and global economic discourse power, by taking advantage of Shanghai Free Trade Port; do a good job in the construction planning for free trade ports, so as to achieve orderly development and efficient work division and cooperation; improve the regulatory system and the risk prevention and control system; accelerate the exploration of high-standard international investment and trade rules; and enhance the support position of Shanghai Free Trade Port in the "Belt and Road" iniviative.
