[Abstract]

This issue of the Key Reference publishes an article entitled Drawing on the Experience of Foreign Cultural & Creative Parks and Building Shanghai into a Global Creative City. The article introduces several representative modes of cultural & creative industrial parks abroad and their patterns of operation. Based on foreign experience, it gives the following suggestions about development of Shanghai’s cultural & creative industry: First, the roles of both the market and governments must be highlighted to promote the free flow of elements. Second, efforts must be made to promote the organic integration between the cultural & creative industry and manufacturing. Third, Shanghai’s culture must be inherited to improve the public services of the cultural & creative industry.
