Industrial Chain Distribution in the Yangtze River Delta and Shanghai’s Industrial Positioning
[Abstract]
This issue of the Key Reference publishes an article entitled the Industrial Chain Distribution in the Yangtze River Delta and Shanghai’s Industrial Positioning. The article gives detailed analysis from two perspectives, i.e. the industrial chain distribution and main industrial choice in the Yangtze River Delta as a global urban region and world-class urban agglomeration, and Shanghai’s industrial positioning based on the goal of building itself into an excellent global city, and proposes policy suggestions aimed to promote the reasonable distribution of the industrial chain in Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta: First, efforts shall be made to link Shanghai with the urban agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta, and develop the Yangtze River Delta into a world-class global urban region and urban agglomeration; Second, efforts shall be made to intensify regional industrial cooperation and eliminate administrative restrictions; Third, efforts shall be made to promote the linkage between Shanghai’s industry and the regional division of labor, and between the popularization of institutional innovation in the free trade zone and the development of the Yangtze River Delta.
