Suggestions on How Shanghai Must Serve the “Belt and Road” Initiative
[Abstract]
This issue of the Key Reference publishes an article entitled the Suggestions on How Shanghai Must Serve the “Belt and Road” Initiative. The article suggests Shanghai should; combine the former idea about “Connecting the Connectivities in Asia-Pacific” and the current “Belt and Road” initiative, i.e. changing the driver from rules to both rules and development; and should improve the business environment, and suggests that the central government increase the members of the BRICS Development Bank, and attract participation by ASEAN and other countries that are suitable for the “Belt and Road” initiative. It also suggests Shanghai should advance its construction as an international financial center by focusing on the development of the insurance industry, consider being connected to the countries along the Belt and Road while implementing trade facilitation measures, and make preparations for future dominance over the “Belt and Road” supply chain through construction of a scientific innovation center.
