[Abstract]

This issue of the Survey Report is entitled Expanding Middle-Income Groups and Boosting Economic Development in Shanghai. Through the analysis on the scale, development trend, and consumption mode of middle-income group in Shanghai, this issue of the Survey Report offers policy suggestions for driving economic growth by consumption, mainly including building a modern service system in international metropolises, increasing employment opportunities of middle-income groups, improving the social security system, stabilizing commodity and housing prices, inhibiting inflation, strengthening market supervision, and promoting product innovation.
