Suggestions on Creating an Industry Leading Position for Intelligent Connected Vehicles in Shanghai

    【Abstract】

This issue of Key Reference publishes an article entitled Suggestions on Creating an Industry Leading Position for Intelligent Connected Vehicles in Shanghai. According to the analysis of the article, the intelligent network-linked automobile is the future development direction of the automobile industry. Creating an industry-leading intelligent network-linked automobile industry is conducive to the promotion of the conversion of the old and new kinetic energy of the Shanghai economy, forming a strong target for achieving 25 percent of the manufacturing industry in the 13th Five-Year Plan period. However, Shanghai’s advantages in Internet and other information technologies are not outstanding. Shanghai not only lacks leading Internet enterprises, but also has no advantage in the development level of the digital economy. According to the China Digital Economy Index (DEDI) Report in 2017 of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Shanghai's development level of the digital economy lags behind Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong and Beijing, and is only at the second tier nationwide. The article suggests that Shanghai promote key technical breakthroughs by establishing an intelligent connected vehicle innovation research institute; remove institutional barriers to industrial development, and strengthen pilot demonstration of the industry; attract leading industrial enterprises to move in, and promote "mass entrepreneurship and innovation"; hold the world intelligent connected vehicle conference, and expand its influence in Shanghai.
